Girls Varsity Golf · Get to Know Your Coaches-Andrea Rodenkirch (Girls Golf)

During the upcoming weeks we will be using the void in athletics to let our students, parents, and community get to know our coaches.  We have great coaches at West Bend East and we want everyone to learn just how great they are!
Our first coach is Andrea Rodenkirch (Coop Girl’s Golf Coach):
Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Andrea Rodenkirch. Born and raised in Sheboygan, WI.  I have been teaching math at Badger for 15 years.  I have also coached girls golf for 14 years.
I coach golf because I have it in my blood. I was born and raised on the golf course. My dad is a professional golfer, who also lived and breathed the sport. I love the sport of golf, it makes me feel like home.  I love teaching it to girls as it is such a lifetime sport and reminds me when I was little.
Why do you coach?
I coach golf because I have it in my blood. I was born and raised on the golf course. My dad is a professional golfer, who also lived and breathed the sport. I love the sport of golf, it makes me feel like home.  I love teaching it to girls as it is such a lifetime sport and reminds me when I was little.
What are your hobbies?
I love to run, hangout with my friends/family, take on new adventures, camp, and eat Cheetos!
Tell us about your family?
Been married to Aaron Rodenkirch for 9 years and we have two girls Amelia (5) and Alivia (3) and a yellow lab, Palmer (10)
What do you like best about West Bend East?
I am a Co-op— so I really love both schools.  I don’t know any difference between the schools! The girls are great!
 A funny story about you?
The girls will tease me about my driving—- and I did run over a little golf sign with the expedition I had to drive!
What you are doing during these trying times to stay entertained and continue some normalcy?
We still have routines set in our house.  With a 3 and 5 year old we still have schedules to be followed.  (When playtime/recess is as well as snack, lunch, homework/learning and excercise time is) when they nap, it’s my time to do distance learning and touch base with my students/make screencastify.
Some advice to students during these times.
Hang in there. This is only a phase, we will get back to normalcy.  Enjoy the time with your family, and try to make the best out of it.  We have really learned how to slow down, and get outside together!  Everyone is in the same boat, just stay safe and healthy! We got this!
