The West Bend Boys put up a good fight against a very strong and deep Cedarburg team last night at their first meet of the season.

Varsity results as follows:
Jan Lanser won the diving competition with 272.6 points, with Ryan Meyer coming in 3rd with 153.95 pts. and Garret Pauli taking 5th with 110.95 pts for West Bend.

There were several 2nd place finishes for West Bend, including, Nathan Meyer in the 100 backstroke, Kevin Fitzgerald in the 200 freestyle and Phillip Mayer in the 100 butterfly. West Bend also took second in all three relays – 200 medley (Fitzgerald, John DeTuncq, Mayer, Meyer), the 200 freestyle relay (DeTuncq, JimTaylor, Keith Overman, Jack Davis) and the 400 freestyle relay (Meyer, Davis, Mayer, Fitzgerald).

The JV swimmers also did their part but came up just short, losing the meet to Cedarburg 77-73. There are lots of returning swimmers as well as many new faces on the team this year!

The boys head to Whitefish Bay next Tues., Dec. 10th. Meet starts at 6:00pm.
