Boys Varsity Tennis · Boys Tennis Wins Cedarburg Quad

  Place Points
West Bend East High School 1st 1

The West Bend East Suns won the Cedarburg Quad on Saturday. More impressive than their three victories on Saturday, however, was the fact that most of the ten boys were still alive after playing six matches between 2:30 PM on Friday and 3 PM on Saturday. It was a gauntlet which the Suns have now completed two years in a row (with Dylan Polster being the only player to play in both).

Going through the weekend, Alex Schaetz and Trey Larson both won all six of their matches. Dylan Polster played the best offensive tennis of his career, winning five of six matches at 2 singles including an impressive win over a strong Cedarburg athlete. Christian Ketter and Michael Conklin upped their one doubles record to 6-6 on the season by taking four of six matches, and pushing a strong Cedarburg tandem to a tiebreaker. Aidan Schmidt and Nathan Meyer similarly pushed Cedarburg to the limit and upped their collective record to 5-2, and the freshmen combo of Owen Schmidt and Steven Marris won two of their three matches to up their record to 7-5.

The win against Cedarburg was tallied as the official conference match for the season.

The Suns are back in action on Wednesday at Homestead (for the division title) and back home on Thursday for Dylan Polster Senior night.
