After a season of exceeding expectations, most of the Suns rode off into the sunset on Thursday at the sectional in Appleton. Dylan Polster ended his high school tennis career by taking fourth place at 2 singles, battling through both of his matches. Trey Larson similarly capped off his sophomore campaign with a fourth place finish.
At one singles, junior Alex Schaetz will be going to the state tournament (he also went as a freshman). Schaetz won that right by defeating a 16-7 player from Appleton North. Schaetz ended his day by taking third in the sectional, defeating a player from Manitowoc who had been seeded higher at the start of the tournament.
Schaetz will play in Madison next Thursday, and look to advance to Friday.
