The 2019 Boys Sectional Meet was another really great meet for both the divers and the swimmers!

On Friday, Feb. 8th, the divers did a fantastic job of diving. Dan Dienhart had his second best score of the season taking second place along with Jan Lanser eighth place, Connor Opgenorth ninth place, Henry Anderson tenth place and Austin Jeassing eleventh place starting the team off with 50 points.

On Saturday, Feb. 9th, the swimmers also did a fantastic job of swimming. The 200 Medley Relay of Nathan Meyer, Cameron Kraus, Kevin Fitzgerald and Jackson Raad started off with a great swim dropping 1.46 seconds placing fifth with a time of *1:45.30. In the 200 Freestyle Jack Davis dropped 2.57 seconds placing fourth in a *2:05.29. Jackson Raad shot into the 50 Freestyle with a 22.24 for third place and a .31 second drop. The 100 Butterfly brought Phillip Mayer to the blocks where he broke the one minute barrier dropping 1.53 seconds going 59.01 for eleventh place. Jackson Raad put two sprint 50s together in the 100 Freestyle taking fourth place in 48.95 and a 1.15 second drop in time. Nathan Meyer also did a good job in the 100 Freestyle placing thirteenth in 53.36. Kevin Fitzgerald won the 500 Freestyle in 4;48.18, becoming a Sectional Champion! Along with Kevin, Trevor Kehring swam a great 500 freestyle and placed eleventh dropping 7.36 seconds with a 5:36.99. Stepping to the block in the 200 Freestyle Relay, Cameron Kraus, Jack Davis, John DeTuncq and Phillip Mayer cruised to ninth place dropping .35 second to 1:41.60. The 100 Backstroke was another event where we had two swimmers place. Kevin Fitzgerald dropped .47 seconds to place fifth in 55.10. Our second Backstroker was Nathan Meyer who also dropped 1.78 seconds to a 59.80 placing eleventh. Cameron Kaus flowed to a 1:10.42 in the 100 Breaststroke and a fourteenth place finish. In the final event of the meet, Jackson Raad, Phillip Mayer, Nathan Meyer and Kevin Fitzgerald thundered to fifth place dropping 3.03 seconds to a 3:29.51 in the 400 Free Relay.

As you can see all eight swimmers stepped up to the blocks and did a great continuing job of never giving up. This gave us a great T.E.A.M. effort.

With all the amazing swimming and diving our T.E.A.M. did, we qualified two Swimmers and one Diver for the WIAA Division 1 State Meet held in Madison on Sat., Feb. 16th.
